An embry drop is a military maneuver executed by a Raptor.
According to Karl "Helo" Agathon, a proper embry drop involves temporary killing the engines, going into a hard descent and then reactivating the engines at full power, so as to avoid a crash.
Such a drop is attempted as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace and Agathon were being fired upon by Darja Purat's Raptor-like craft above Sagittaron's outermost moon (Comics: Battlestar Galactica: Season Zero #4).
