Jessica "Jessie" Ward is a Sagittaron who is one of the first 30 members of the Sagittaron Freedom Movement. Prior to this, she was a member of the failed Citizens for Sagittaron Labor Reform party, from which the SFM sprung forth.
She and Tom Zarek later engage in a romantic relationship, in addition to obtaining a top spot in the SFM. She claims to him that her own parents would be proud of their work.
As the SFM's rank swells, they begin to gets careless and, in a raid on a warehouse, she is captured with other compatriots. In return for being freed, she helps the Sagittaron government try to destroy the SFM. However, before she can inflict any real damage, Zarek and Benedict Mason test her by providing information on an attack on the Colonial Reserve. Mason and Zarek drive Ward out to a secluded area, claiming the need to take care of business before they join the attack on teh Rserve. When SFM members confirm the presence of Colonial Police and other forces awaiting their arrival, Wade is outed as an informant, much to Zarek's furious anger.
As Wade begs for her life, claiming that she couldn't survive in prison, Zarek executes her for her betrayal that cut him deep (Battlestar Galactica: Zarek 2).
