Tomlin is a Colonial Marine serving under Alexa Flores's Twilight Command prior to the Fall of the Twelve Colonies.
Tomlin is the only soldier under Flores's command to survive the Cylon attack, as Flores rescues him and makes their way to The Fleet.
With a reconstituted Twilight Command, Tomlin works alongside new recruits Spark and Devos in their plan to abscond with a Raptor from Galactica. This plan is thwarted by Kara Thrace and William Adama, resulting in his imprisonment (Battlestar Galactica: Twilight Command 2).
He settles on New Caprica, but finds himself fighting the Cylons following their discovery and occupation of the planet a year following in their own resistance cell (Battlestar Galactica: Twilight Command 1).
