Chantara is a young married mother living on Caprica very shortly before the Fall of the Twelve Colonies.

She meets with a mysterious blonde woman at the Riverwalk Market in Caprica City, who stops to examine Chantara's infant.

When Chantara is distracted by her husband's shouts from elsewhere, the blonde woman kills her child in what may or may not have been a mercy-killing. After the blonde woman leaves, Chantara screams with horror at the realization that her child is not breathing.

Chantara is presumed dead with the vast majority of the denizens of Caprica City after the detonation of a nuclear bomb over the city during the Cylon attack on Caprica City ^{(TRS: "Miniseries, Night 1")}.
