Rekort is the captain of the diplomatic vessel Taurella.

In 7348, he is in command of Taurella after its escape from the besieged Twelve Colonies of Man, and joins Adama's rag-tag, fugitive fleet. The ship, however, is unable to keep up and is lost within the first yahren.

Unbeknownst to the Fleet, Taurella and its crew, along with Countess Sephoni and her court, survive alone for the next ten yahrens. Using Sephoni's psionic abilities, Rekort and his crew are able to follow in the Fleet's footsteps, but never fully able to rejoin the Fleet until Xam divines the coordinates to Taurella in 7358 (^{(Comics: Battlestar Galactica: Death of Apollo #1)}—^{(Comics: Battlestar Galactica: Death of Apollo #2)}).
