In 7358, he becomes one of the newer generation of Warriors to defend the Fleet.

As a participant in Major Apollo's recon probe to the coordinates provided by Serphoni, Zurel is the first to detect the super basestar during their encounter with the super basestar, and is quickly killed while attempting to retreat (^{(Comics: Battlestar Galactica: Death of Apollo #1)}—^{(Comics: Battlestar Galactica: Death of Apollo #2)}).
