Loki is a heavy cruiser in service with the Colonial Fleet during the First Cylon War circa 42 BCH (58YR).
At some point, it was engaged in combat with Cylon forces, and was reported by the Colonial Fleet to have been destroyed. This report was only a cover story, meant to protect Loki and other ships hiding in Cylon held space as part of a secret "ghost fleet". Loki later jumps away with the fleet to strike every Cylon base along the border as part of a successful Colonial campaign to put the Cylons on the defensive (TRS: "Blood and Chrome").
Notes
edit sourceThe pre-production script for Blood and Chrome identifies Loki as one of the ships that was "reported lost and presumed destroyed" during the war, but was actually part of the hidden Ghost Fleet positioned within Cylon space.[1] The script indicates that multiple Colonial ships were deliberately reported as destroyed to maintain the secrecy of the Ghost Fleet's existence and location.
