She pursues what she believes to be a [[Cylons (RDM)|Cylon]] [[Heavy Raider]] in this Viper and both are nearly lost when she dives deep in the gas giant's atmosphere. The Viper is later lost during a later CAP along with Thrace when it is crushed by the intense atmospheric pressure of the planet after Thrace descends below the hard deck ([[Maelstrom]]).

Viper 8737NC is one of the Viper Mark IIs taken from Galactica's Museum. It was originally piloted by Steady (Miniseries).

Captain Kara Thrace pilots 8737 on a Combat Air Patrol during fleet refueling operations.
