Just a Note

Heya, Talos. A couple times I've noticed that on talk pages, you're not signing your comments. It's kind of hard that way to see who said what's typed. It's simple to do, just after the end of your post, type two dashes and four tildes (without spaces: --~~ ~~). That will sign the thing like this: --Day 14:11, 13 September 2005 (EDT)

Sorry, I actually just noticed that with my comment on the Mil. Hairstyles. I didn't know how to do that before but now I'll go back and add them. Thanks for the help, now let's see if it works. --Talos 14:17, 13 September 2005 (EDT)
No worries. Also note, that it's traditional to indent a reply by starting out with a coolon. One colon for each tab (and thus for each reply-level). I took the liberty of formatting this conversation. When I joined, I found the tutorial very helpful for these kinds of things. Also, if you want to share some things about yourself, or whatever, I reccomend editing your user page. I always like to get to know people, but it's, of course, entirely up to you how much, if any, to share about yourself. --Day 14:36, 13 September 2005 (EDT)

Regarding Image:Mini TOS1701.jpg

Noticed the image you uploaded and have to ask, where exactly did this come from? (I wouldn't be surprised if Zoic slipped this in somewhere, seeing as they slipped in the Serenity.) If you could add any pertinent info to Image:Mini TOS1701.jpg's description page, that would be appreciated. Thanks! -- Joe Beaudoin 16:26, 14 November 2005 (EST)

I'm going to add something, I've just been busy and haven't gotten around to it. --Talos 07:32, 15 November 2005 (EST)
I went to my DVD of the Mini, and you can see the Enterprise at 2:46:40. The brightness in the picture is turned up. --Talos 07:36, 15 November 2005 (EST)
That particular image is from the forums. --April Arcus 13:29, 15 November 2005 (EST)
I first saw it at a discussion at the Trek BBS. In case it can't be used I made a (not as good) screen capture off of my DVD.

Greets from a fellow (former) Cadet Captain

Noticed the activity on your talk page, and ran into your user page. I didn't have it on my user page, but I also held the rank of Cadet Captain back in my day. Army ROTC, Western Region, 10th "Gateway" Brigade, Bulldog Battalion (Truman State University), Bravo Company. I was CO (first semester) and XO (second semester) of Bravo, my sophomore year. Scared the heck out of my (now retired) Air Force dad (thinking that I would join), but I ended up not contracting. It still makes a nice bullet on the resume, and was a good experience. Steelviper 15:47, 15 November 2005 (EST)

Good to meet another cadet. I was only in JROTC so far but I'm considering joining NROTC when I transfer to a four year college after next year. BTW I was the Battalion S-3 of the Prince George High School "Royal" Battalion.

Happy Belated Birthday

Seeing that you were panning for a greeting, I just wanted to let you know you were successful. :) --Spencerian 15:25, 22 January 2006 (EST)

So did you just become a "major" or have 17-year-olds officially been out of your grasp for a full year now? :) --Watcher 15:36, 22 January 2006 (EST)

They've been out of my grasp for some time now. I do start senior ROTC hopefully in the fall. I'm planning on joining the Navy and being either a Surface Warfare Officer of a Naval Flight Officer (for comparison: Gaeta or Apollo/Boomer/Helo etc.). Thanks, I've felt out of the loop since the site went down originally. I was only able to access it once in that whole time until now and that was only for about an hour. --Talos 22:22, 22 January 2006 (EST)

Yes, happy birthday! I'll send a copy of Number Six your way. ;-) -- Joe Beaudoin 00:27, 23 January 2006 (EST)

Boomer Target Pic

Hey, man! Nice shot! (Screenshot, that is.) Perfect! I hope Ricimer likes it. --Steelviper 12:41, 27 January 2006 (EST)

Battle pages

Isn't it more relevant to know who was piloting the vipers rather than what their numbers were? I'd say we should only cite numbers where they are known but pilots are not. --April Arcus 17:21, 20 March 2006 (CST)

That'd work, what I was thinking is that the pilot is going to be listed on the Viper page, eg Viper 7961 shows Kat as the pilot in the battle. But, like they say, YMMV. --Talos 19:18, 20 March 2006 (CST)

Requested pics

Hey thanks for that Socinus pic from the deleted scenes. Hey, can you try to get one of that other one I've got in "requested images", from the "Colonial Day" deleted scenes which might give us more info about Quorum member names from that episode (My DVD player can't seem to catch it). --The Merovingian (C - E) 15:52, 26 May 2006 (CDT)

I just tried and couldn't get it. I'll keep trying. --Talos 15:54, 26 May 2006 (CDT)

Season 3 Pics

I updated a bunch over at my gallery... I didn't releize that they were so big. You going to update them with the larger versions? --Shane (T - C - E) 22:22, 1 September 2006 (CDT)

Sure, I can if you want. --Talos 22:32, 1 September 2006 (CDT)
That be better beacuse I wouldn't be able to match the file with the image. :) --Shane (T - C - E) 22:38, 1 September 2006 (CDT)
I'm reducing them to 25% size, this cuts down memory size from about 3-4mb to 160-170kb without sacrificing much quality. Any I don't get done tonight (its 0037 right now), I'll do tomorrow. --Talos 23:19, 1 September 2006 (CDT)
Aye. --Shane (T - C - E) 23:25, 1 September 2006 (CDT)

Viper Designs?

Are you the same "Talos" from SFM with the funky-as-frak Viper/Scorpion designs? --Madbrood 13:31, 19 September 2006 (CDT)

Yep, that would be me, I was wondering how long it would be until someone mentioned them here. --Talos 13:37, 19 September 2006 (CDT)
If you have no objections, my friend, I'd like to use/reference a couple in a BSG alternate-universe fic i'm currently writing :) --Madbrood 13:43, 19 September 2006 (CDT)
That's no problem at all, feel free to. Which one's were you going to use? --Talos 13:44, 19 September 2006 (CDT)
I'm not sure, exactly. The fic itself is still very much in its infancy. I did like the look of your Scorpion design, and was looking to have either a Mk VIII or an as-yet un-designed long-range, FTL-capable nuclear strike bird. Do you have any IM programs? I'd like your views on the fic so far, and any thoughts you might have on the tech (unseen Battlestars, contents of a BSG etc). --Madbrood 13:50, 19 September 2006 (CDT)
Sure, I have MSN is my screen name. I'll get on now if you'd like. --Talos 13:52, 19 September 2006 (CDT)
That'd be great, thanks :) --Madbrood 13:54, 19 September 2006 (CDT)
Hey, just thought you should know- I can't view that Scorpion pic you linked me to, there's some problem connecting to the server --Madbrood 11:39, 25 September 2006 (CDT)
I just tried it and it works, I'll upload it again as well as the new Scarab pic. The Scarab has the new aft fuselage fairing and tail that the Scorpion'll have when I update it. --Talos 11:47, 25 September 2006 (CDT)

NBSG-AdmiralPin.jpg Thank you for participating in my RfA, which passed with a tally of 7/0/0. I can't express how much it means to me to become an administrator. I'll work even more and harder to become useful for the community. If you need a helping hand, don't hesitate to contact me. Shane (T - C - E) 20:37, 8 October 2006 (CDT)
No problem, Shane, I trust you'll do good work as an admin and that is why I voted for you. --Talos 20:50, 8 October 2006 (CDT)

Your RFA

Has come in. Might want to take a screencapture of it. :-) --Shane (T - C - E) 12:26, 12 October 2006 (CDT)

You've been promoted to administrator! Congrats! If you have any questions, feel free to ask! -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 20:05, 19 October 2006 (CDT)

Thanks Joe, and everyone who voted for me, it means a lot....Hey new tabs, awesome! I'll go grab a mop. --Talos 20:57, 19 October 2006 (CDT)
Make sure it's clean! Congrats! --Shane (T - C - E) 23:19, 19 October 2006 (CDT)

External Cannons?

It's good and all that you expanded the offensive section of the Raptor, but can you cite where the external cannons are from? --Volostheguardian 14:45, 28 October 2006 (CDT)

In "Exodus, Part II" some Raptors carry what look to be external gunpods --Serenity 14:47, 28 October 2006 (CDT)
They are mounted on the wingtips, with a bomb and then a quad pack of missiles inboard. --Talos 14:55, 28 October 2006 (CDT)

I'm sorry about all this, guys. I've been very busy with work and now university starting back up, plus being kind of burned out with BSG. But, seeing the original series Raiders on the commercial for Razor got me back into it, so I'm here again. Once again, I'm sorry about disappearing, but I should be able to be here again. --Talos 20:31, 2 October 2007 (CDT)

No worries, Talos. We've kept the lights on for ya. :) -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Sanctuary Wiki — New 20:49, 2 October 2007 (CDT)
Thanks Joe. My cdrom on my laptop is still non-functional, so my screenshot-taking capability is limited until I can fix it, but I'll do what I can. It's good to be back. --Talos 22:31, 2 October 2007 (CDT)

WB! Shane (T - C - E) 01:15, 3 October 2007 (CDT)
Welcome back! --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 07:02, 3 October 2007 (CDT)
Thanks Shane, Catrope. Did I miss anything interesting while I was gone? Gotta get caught up now. --Talos 11:16, 3 October 2007 (CDT)
That's a good question. Hitting the blog might be an easy way to get a high-level view of major happenings. Your question got me thinking, though. Maybe we should have an official "timeline" for BW, and note significant milestones. It seems like a natural thing for a website of archivists and (fictional) historians. Welcome back, BTW. Once a Galactipedian, always a Galactipedian. (Kinda like the Marine Corps, but considerably less hard core.) --Steelviper 12:15, 3 October 2007 (CDT)
Hmm... Not a bad idea. LOL -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Sanctuary Wiki — New 12:38, 3 October 2007 (CDT)

Welcome back, Talos! For your penance, you get to buy the Galactica 1980 DVDs and review them. Twice. ;) --Spencerian 14:48, 3 October 2007 (CDT)

No, please gods no, not that! Anything but that! Have mercy on me. :D --Talos 16:55, 3 October 2007 (CDT)
I guess we could reduce it to one watching just to be nice. --Serenity 17:11, 3 October 2007 (CDT)
How about I examine Razor frame-by-frame when it comes out and analyze the Vipers, other ships, and misc military parts of it. That's what I'm good at. :D --Talos 21:08, 3 October 2007 (CDT)

Spammer protection

Thanks for the protection! And sorry that my attempts to undo the damage to our respective user pages wasn't getting anywhere. Let's hope this also slows or stops the non-stop spam registrations we've been getting for a month and a half now. -- BlueResistance 23:26, 7 October 2012 (EDT)

Not a problem. I thought it was the best thing to do at the time. Whoever it was who did it, it's the same people who vandalized my user talk a few weeks ago. --Talos 08:42, 8 October 2012 (EDT)

Talos, you should be able to add usernames to the MediaWiki:Titleblacklist. I added some in there based on what I saw. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 01:29, 8 October 2012 (EDT)

Alright, I'll take a look at that later today when I get a chance. --Talos 08:42, 8 October 2012 (EDT)
