Atreus was a member of the Tauron crime syndicate Ha'la'tha living on Caprica in the years prior to the Cylon War. Atreus and his men claimed the gun trade on Caprica, operating independently of the Guatrau.

Some fifty-eight years before the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, Atreus and his men took reprisal on Sam Adama when Adama threatened their trade by shipping weapons to aid in the second Tauron Uprising. Atreus chose to allow Adama to live, however he shot and killed Adama's cohort, Demos and confiscated his weapons (CAP: "False Labor").

Some time later, as Atreus and his men celebrated in the Caprica City rooftop club, Skybar, a U-87 soldier robot stormed the club and opened fire. Shooting his men and leaving him badly injured, the U-87 Cylon allowed Atreus to live - long enough anyway for Sam Adama to chat with him. When Adama was finished with Atreus, he ordered his robotic companion to dispatch Atreus, sending him to the soil (CAP: "False Labor").
