Welcome to Battlestar Wiki![edit]

Welcome to the Wiki, Mars. Feel free to tell us about yourself on your user page. Before you get started on other edits, please read the Battlestar Wiki:Standards and Conventions, which details the policies we use in editing pages (this differs from many other wikis in consistent use of phrasing, abbreviations, format, and the like).

Also, if you have any questions or suggestions you wish to offer, please feel free to do so either on your user talk page, the Wikipedian Quorum or Administrators' noticeboard. Remember to sign your posts on any talk pages using four tildes (~~~~)! We look forward to your contributions to the community! --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 06:54, 10 August 2006 (CDT)

Rollback Note[edit]

Hi, Mars. I rolled back your last edit to Propulsion in the Re-imagined Series as it was unnecessary. To save a few characters in typing (and to keep articles from growing over time), you can use [[Re-imagined Series]] or [[Original Series]] for links that are always redirected to the Battlestar Galactica (RDM) and Battlestar Galactica (TOS) articles, respectively. --Spencerian 09:06, 12 October 2006 (CDT)

News update[edit]

In the future, if you ever need to update the news you need only click on the little icon in the news header which will take you here. You can edit the news items there. Also, in the future you can ask questions in the Quorum or at the admin noticeboard. Or you can hit somebody's talk page. --Steelviper 12:50, 28 November 2006 (CST)

Image[edit]

That was a frak-up on my part. Seems I uploaded the wrong image when changing the low-res stuff to DVD screenshots. They are supposed to be different. I'll revert it and upload a new one. -- Serenity 20:11, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

No Exit promotional image[edit]

Hey, what promotional image do you refer to that says John Hodgman appears in the episode "No Exit"?--DrWho42 18:36, 7 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Move permissions[edit]

Mars,

I've given you move permissions, which will allow you to make the necessary corrections you see fit when it comes to issues like Alessandra Torresani's article. Message me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns! -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 16:54, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Spoiler text removal[edit]

I would go cautious myself and wait 'til the January 4 broadcast. Some people don't buy the DVD, the DVD set only just came out, and it's not a long wait to hold off for the broadcast. The broadcast is at a set time, whereas people could obtain the DVD anytime in the near future and don't have to watch all the unaired episodes at once. They may not have seen all (or any, if they're about to start them or start with the aired episodes in the set), and then come to this wiki.

BTW, can't put the spoiler text back myself as I haven't seen the unaired episodes (please don't mention details of them to me). I just knew you had removed it because I saw your summary in Recentchanges. -- Noneofyourbusiness 04:30, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

On the other hand, there are precedents for putting new information onto the wiki without spoiler covers after a DVD release but before broadcast--The Plan (about three months before broadcast) and the Caprica pilot (nine months before broadcast). -- BlueResistance 21:05, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
But it wasn't known when those would be broadcast when they came out on DVD, so they were less likely to have people waiting for the broadcast (and weren't overpriced, containing multiple episodes including aired ones, and on the heels of an acrimonious cancellation), and it turned out to be longer gaps than in this case. Someone could be planning to DVR the episodes to contribute to the ratings (though buying the DVDs also figures) and/or figuring they don't need to bother buying the DVD with the broadcast so close. The Plan and the Caprica pilot cases feel more like the DVD was the proper debut than this does. -- Noneofyourbusiness 01:30, 23 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
I remembered last night that there's an Undo function; I don't have to go into the text and read it. -- Noneofyourbusiness 13:33, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
There is, but you would want to use it sparingly. Some of the edits you did did remove information, such as the fact that Fidelia had a brother. (Info was in the infobox.) -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 18:41, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sorry. I thought that might be the case. I hope it's not too much trouble to re-insert those parts. -- Noneofyourbusiness 23:08, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
No, not really. :) -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 00:30, 25 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
