Darja Purat is a Tauron arms dealer captured by the Colonial Fleet.
As a result, he is serving a life term at Luna Three. Despite his imprisonment, he is apparently very well connected, and claims responsibility for two raids against Colonial targets, including a Gemenon cargo ship and a Tauron refueling station, where FTL spools and other equipment necessary to supply and repair a single FTL-capable attack craft.
Agent Christa Nolan, an officer from Colonial Intelligence, claims to want to dangle Purat like a carrot by escorting him through Colonial space, so that his compatriots can attempt to rescue him in transit, should he be involved with the recent terrorist activity. Unbeknownst to the Galactica's pilots hand-picked to stop such a rescue attempt, Nolan is romantically involved with Purat and her plan is to make it easier for Purat to escape, which both manage to pull off (Battlestar Galactica: Season Zero 3).
Purat and Nolan are pursued to one of Sagittaron's outermost moons by Kara Thrace and Karl Agathon of Galactica. On this moon, Purat meets his mysterious benefactor, with whom they begin discussing their common goals (Battlestar Galactica: Season Zero 4).
