Hector is an android created out of "spare parts" by the android, Vector, before the death of John Fowler (Sarah's father).

Despite Hector's "heritage," Hector is the kinder of the two. Hector assists in constructing the grave and the domicile in time for Michael's ship to land on the planet Paradeen.

Hector mistakes Starbuck, who has shaggy dark-brown hair, as Sarah's oldest child, Charity. Hector also forgets to disable the transmitter, which results in yet more ire from Vector.

Hector additionally assists in taking Starbuck to the city, later returning to the farm to gather assistance. While he is constantly bashed by the senior android, Vector, Apollo tells him it was the right thing to do. Later on, after the Eastern Alliance enforcers are rounded up, and at the permission of Sarah, the androids finally get to perform a dance from the Royal Theatre of Terra (Greetings from Earth).
