Baltar is the trusted advisor of President Adama leading into the betrayal of the Battle of Cimtar.
As part of his betrayal, he orders his own aide, Apollo, killed ((Comics: Classic Battlestar Galactica Vol. 2 #3) & (Comics: Classic Battlestar Galactica Vol. 2 #5)).
In the time that follows, Zee fuses Baltar to Lucifer, becoming a hybridized cybernetic entity called Baltifer ((Comics: Classic Battlestar Galactica Vol. 2 #3)).
