Obal Ferras is a member of the conclave of the Monotheist Church on Gemenon. While working with the Soldiers of the One at their Gemenon training camps, Ferras came to know a young Clarice Willow.

Following Willow's presentation of Apotheosis, Ferras declares the concept both tacky and blasphemous, and seeks permission from the Blessed Mother to have her eliminated. Willow, however, successfully rallies both other members of the conclave and the STO to her side, including her would-be assassin Diego, and orchestrates Ferras' assassination (CAP: "Unvanquished").

Ferras' ring is later bequeathed to Diego by Mother when she obliquely orders him to murder Lacy Rand, after Rand demonstrates an uncontrollable ability to command the U-87 Cyber Combat Units they bought from the Ha'la'tha (CAP: "Here Be Dragons").
