Daru Mozu, also known as Refinery 322 and operating under Tauranian registry, is the Fleet's tylium refinery ship. Refinery ships process raw minerals and metals gathered by a mining ship. Unlike a mining ship, a refinery vessel has large processing and storage facilities, and can serve as a fueling vessel. In the storage compartments small excavators and chutes are used to move the raw, granular tylium to long conveyor belts on the lower decks. There manual labor is involved in refining it to a liquid fuel, but the exact further process is unknown.

The Daru Mozu is the site of a short-lived, but large labor strike threatening to spill over to other vessels in the Fleet. Its workers complain that they have been working nearly non-stop since the original Cylon attack, with no chance of taking leaves or advancing to other jobs. Moreover, many of the workers are minors, who have been taught the work by their parents. Since tylium is vital for mankind's survival, President Roslin and Admiral Adama immediately arrest the strike leader and threaten drastic measures to end the strike. Chief Tyrol takes up their cause and is able to negotiate improvements in the working conditions, like a rotation of workers with other ships, even though that results in involuntary conscription (Dirty Hands).

* The Daru Mozu isn't identified by name until "Epiphanies" and earlier episodes just call it "refinery ship", but dialogue - especially from the episode "Dirty Hands" - continually refers to it in the singular. Combined with visual evidence, this indicates that the same ship is meant.
* In "Home, Part I" a refinery ship is referred to as "refueling tanker," but the configuration of the ship is identical to Daru Mozu and Hitei Kan.

* According to a deleted scene from"Epiphanies," four members of the crew were killed by the female suicide bomber.
* In "Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II," the ship is noted on the master tally board on Galactica, but absent from the whiteboard voting tracker on Colonial One.
* In "Dirty Hands" and "A Disquiet Follows My Soul", the Hitei Kan was noted as the only refinery ship in the Fleet following events on New Caprica in "Exodus, Part II". As the Daru Mozu (and at least two additional sister ships of the same design) were still part of the fleet post-Second Exodus, and seen intact in "Hero" and "Guess What's Coming to Dinner?", it is speculated by some fans that its Tylium refinery facilities were destroyed, dismantled or lost.<ref>The episode "Dirty Hands" strongly implies that the Hitei Kan is the only existing refinery ship and thus Daru Mozu has either been destroyed or abandoned. Additional Information

Daru Mozu, also known as Refinery 322[1] is a tylium refinery ship that part of the surviving Colonial Fleet, following the exodus of the Twelve Colonies. It was found by Laura Roslin aboard Colonial One shortly after the onset of the Fall of the Twelve Colonies at the hands of the Cylons. It assists in replenishing Roslin's fleet before being forced to make an FTL jump to Ragnar Anchorage. From there, it is guarded by the battlestar Galactica as the fleet makes an escape towards the Prolmar Sector (TRS: "Miniseries").

The ship received Tylium mined by Monarch and Majahual following the successful capture of a Tylium asteroid from the Cylons. (TRS: "The Hand of God").

Fleet ships were refueled by pulling along side, and connecting to the ship (TRS: "Home, Part I").

Around six months after the exodus, a member of Demand Peace blew a hole in the forward section of the ship, killing herself and several members of the crew. The damage was eventually repaired (TRS: "Epiphanies").

 1. Nameplate on the Daru Mozu's hull.
 2. The episode "Dirty Hands" strongly implies that the Hitei Kan is the only existing refinery ship and thus Daru Mozu has either been destroyed or abandoned. At least one refinery ship was present on the surface of New Caprica [1], suggesting the Colonials used the ship for materials, or the Cylons sabotaged the Colonial's Tylium supply as part of their occupation. However, this remains pure speculation. Daru Mozu, never the less, remains part of the fleet, and can be seen with Hitei Kan here.
