Bettis is a nitrassium processing plant worker on Sagittaron.

He attempts to recruit Jerome Zarek to join their strike, initially leading him to believe that it would be a peaceful protest. However, Bettis' subsequent assault on a shift supervisor belies this, as he scorns Zarek and other non-strikers for continuing their jobs ^{(Comics: Battlestar Galactica: Zarek #1)}.
