Additional Information | |||
The Adriatic is the first ship in the Fleet other than Galactica and Pegasus that is known to have weapons. Adriatic is armed with ship-to-ship missiles of a limited range.
This ship, or at least a majority of her crew, were part of Roslin's fleet.
It is in weapon's range of Kara Thrace and her party's stolen Cylon Heavy Raider when it returns from Caprica, though it does not fire (Home, Part I).
The Adriatic is permanently lost along with its skeleton crew during its passage through a star cluster putting out immense amounts of stellar radiation after Lieutenant Brendan Constanza fails to locate and shepherd the ship to safety (The Passage).
Notes
- The Adriatic is one of the few ships in the Fleet whose name is based on modern instead of ancient Earth history, as it appears to be named after the Adriatic Sea, an arm of the Mediterranean Sea that separates Italy from the Balkan peninsula on Earth.
- In addition to the ocean, the White Star Line named two of its vessels Adriatic, one entering service in 1871 and the other in 1907
