Additional Information | |||
Brenik was a Colonial ship which was boarded by Cylon forces during the second year of the Cylon War. [1] The ship's crew fought the Cylon boarding party in hand-to-hand combat in a battle over the ship's ammunition magazines. By the end of the war, the Cylons would abandon this tactic in favor of venting a ship's atmosphere and turning its guns against its allies. Out of 75, only 20 survived the attack.
Saul Tigh claimed to have served on the ship at the time of the boarding, however, given his Cylon nature, he didn't. The memories of this attack were imprinted into his conciseness by Cavil shortly before his resurrection and introduction into Colonial society (TRS: "No Exit").
The loss of Brenik was apparently an infamous Colonial defeat, as years later when Tigh told William Adama of the attack on the ship, Adama instantly knew its fate.
Notes[edit]
- According to RDM's podcast, the scene was supposed to be similar to the scene in Jaws where Quint recounts the infamous fate of the USS Indianapolis.
