Baltar's mother is a woman who, with Sela, begat Baltar.

Residing on Cygnus, Baltar's mother cared for Baltar—forbidding Baltar to visit the tylium mines—while keeping Sela's self-destructive urges in check. However, following her death, Sela was left unchecked and Baltar was given his first taste of power and vice.

As a child, Baltar's mother would nurse him under the stars; a memory Baltar had of her was pointing out the stars held by the Cylon Empire (^{(Comics: Battlestar Galactica Annual 2014)}).
