Danle Rel is a member of the resistance on the Colonial world of Maytoria.

The assault on Maytoria during the Battle of Cimtar takes away Rel's mother, wife and daughter, thus leading into often violent, revenge-seeking acts.

He discovers that Boomer is wearing some sort of Cylon tracking device that has revealed the last hiding place for his beleaguered people, and quickly believes the Colonial Warrior to be a willing traitor until Stadra Ah Mun talks sense into him (Classic Battlestar Galactica Vol. 1 #2).

Rel sacrifices himself as a distraction during the Maytorian plan to commandeer a Cylon personnel carrier for everyone to escape the world. His body is lashed to the front of a Cylon tank as an example of what happens to rebels, angering Freg into preemptive offensive action while en route to their objective (Classic Battlestar Galactica Vol. 1 #3).
