For more information on this unit of measurement and its sourcing, see Substances in the Re-imagined Series.

A "JP" is a Colonial unit of measure for liquids, particularly water. A JP is approximately one pint[1].

Gaius Baltar notes to the leadership of the Fleet how many JPs of water (and other consumables) will be needed per colonist after a saboteur damages Galactica, which loses 60% of its water supply (Water).

Notes

  • In the season 3 episode "Dirty Hands", Gaius Baltar describes the culture of Aerelon and "going down to the pub for a pint", suggesting that Colonials also use the term of "pint." The term may also be a continuity error since Baltar's use of "pub" and "pint" may have been intended to reflect Aerelon's culture as comparable to that of Ireland or Scotland.
