Additional Information

The Faru Sadin is a ship in the Fleet.

The Faru Sadin is successfully guided through a dangerously hot and otherwise-unnavigable star cluster by way of a Raptor piloted by Louanne Katraine on the last of five outbound FTL jumps to a planet with desperately needed foodstuffs.

Katraine, knowing that she has already received a dangerously high dose of radiation after trying unsuccessfully to find and escort the Carina, manages to find the Faru Sadin and return her to the safety of the Fleet. Her bravery saves the ship and its skeleton crew, but Katraine later dies from radiation poisoning (The Passage).
