Lieutenant Eammon "Gonzo" Pike is a Viper pilot who takes part in the liberation of New Caprica (Precipice).

Later, he is part of the Demetrius's crew on its mission to find Earth. However, he believes that the mission is just a trick by Admiral Adama and that Galactica is shadowing the ship only waiting for Thrace to "show her true colors" (The Ties That Bind).

When Kara Thrace orders Karl Agathon to set a course to rendezvous with a Cylon basestar in hopes of gathering information about Earth, rather than return back to the Fleet as scheduled, Pike passionately advocates against the idea. His insubordination is only tolerated for a moment before Agathon pistol whips Pike unconscious in front of the entire ship's crew (The Road Less Traveled).

Pike is among the many pilots stationed on the rebel baseship. When the attack on the Resurrection Hub comes to depend on the Colonial pilots to rely on Cylon pilots flying alongside them, Pike vehemently disagrees and doesn't trust their capabilities. During the battle, Pike pilots a Raptor which destroys the Hub's FTL drive but is severely damaged and unable to maneuver or fight anymore. Pike panics and wants to return to the Fleet against Diana Seelix's urgings. Before initiating the FTL jump, the Raptor is hit by more weapons fire and bullets pierce the cockpit canopy, hitting Pike several times, as well as his ECO (The Hub). Their corpses are later found by Galactica, either having succumbed their wounds or vacuum exposure (Sine Qua Non).

Notes

  • Actor Ryan McDonell is credited for appearing in the episodes "Occupation" and "Precipice" as an unnamed pilot. Because Pike is also a pilot, it can be assumed that he is the same character.
