Tarn is a technician on Galactica.

Tarn is selected for a scout mission to Kobol. When his Raptor is attacked by Cylon forces, it crash-lands on the planet, leaving him stranded on Kobol with the rest of the surviving team (TRS: "Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part I", "Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II").

Tarn is sent back to the crash site to retrieve a medkit for the critically wounded Socinus, accompanied by Chief Tyrol and Cally Henderson. On their way back with the medkit, the three are ambushed by Cylon Centurions.

Tarn is caught in the open and fatally wounded, despite Chief Tyrol's efforts to rescue him from the line of fire (TRS: "Scattered").

Notes[edit]

  • When Seelix and Tarn first appeared in the season 1 finale, they were originally just generically named "Technician #1" (Tarn) and "Technician #2" (Seelix). However, Aaron Douglas, who plays Chief Galen Tyrol, saw potential for the two characters, and after consulting together, they came up with names for the two characters. Douglas then just inserted their names into his lines on every take. Inevitably, they were credited officially beginning in Season 2's premiere. Tarn died in the season 2 premiere, with Seelix becoming a recurring character in the seasons 3 and 4.
