Madusa is the primary mental health officer aboard Galactica in 7351, known for her "tough love" approach to counseling.
She is one of the many women who fall for Starbuck's charms, sharing her belief to Ishtara―who seeks to ground Starbuck as she fears for his mental health―that Starbuck is honest about his fears of the Cylons after the loss of their homeworlds (Fear of Flying).

She finds herself the target of Starbuck's various attentions that she successfully rebukes, and later notes the increasing number of crew members aboard Galactica who experience vivid dreams of Earth (vol2). While such dreams are later found to be those projected by Xam (vol2), the various crises that follow also lead a worn-down Adama to confide in her that he wishes to step aside. Madusa assists him in finding a replacement commander, which are kept in mind following Adama's recovery and mental renewal that lead to the successful engagement of the battle known as Adama's Gambit (vol2).
