- For for the Original Series character, see: Jolly.
Lieutenant[1] Jolly is a Colonial Warrior on Galactica in 7360.
He is assigned to Blue Squadron[2], and presents a jovial disposition as his namesake would imply[3].
Jolly instructs Zimmer to summon Major Sheba[4] following work stoppages by Virgil and other technicians in Galactica's bays[5]. After a protracted argument between Virgil and Jolly, Sheba summarily orders the striking workers to remove themselves from the launch bay, and orders Jolly to not only take over all starship operations in the interim, but also arrest any striking worker that returns to the area without prior authorization[5].
Following Apollo's rescue of Starubck and their return from Ochoa, Jolly greets Apollo with a bear hug[6]. Apollo and Athena order Jolly to retrieve Virgil "at laser point, if necessary"[7].
Jolly participates in the battle against Lucifer's Cylon forces when they spring their first full-fledged attack against the Fleet, after a six yahren pause[8]. After corralling a group of Raiders into a kill zone near Galactica herself[9], Jolly is assigned to a small task force to keep Raiders from attacking Hephaestus[10], allowing the ship to be used in a successful suicide run against Lucifer's basestar[11].
Jolly survives this engagement, seeing Apollo formally promoted as Commander of the Fleet[12] (RH: Armageddon).
Notes
- While Jolly is first introduced as Captain[2] Jolly, later instances of Jolly refer to him as Lieutenant without explanation. This entry thus reflects the rank repeated throughout Richard Hatch's Armageddon.
