Following the Nebula Ambush, Ariadna suffers from engine malfunctions. Colonel Tigh and an engineering team from Galactica attempt to repair the craft while Galactica sends out two flights, each investigating a storm zone and an unnamed, yet well-mapped quadrant. Despite issues, Tigh's repair team is able to re-engage the ship's engines, and enter the storm zone (vol2).
Unable to keep pace with the Fleet, Taurella finds itself alone and fending for itself within the first yahren of the exodus in 7348, after it is presumed lost by the Fleet's leadership. Under the psionic guidance of Countess Sephoni, Captain Rekort and his crew are able to trail the Fleet, never being in a position to rejoin it formally (doa-).

Following the departure from the storm zone, Ariadna engine failure recurs, forcing the Fleet to stop so that the ship isn't left behind. Tigh is given two centars to effect repairs, otherwise her compliment of passengers and supplies is to be evacuated, and the ship abandoned. Overseen by Vipers of red flight, Tigh makes the call to evacuate the ship but the colonel and his engineering team stays aboard to continue repairs up until the last possible centon.
While alone in the expanse of space, Sephoni spends her time finding the home of the fabled Thirteenth Tribe, the far-flung colony of Earth, through the use of divination. Believing to hear the thoughts of humans from that colony, she divines the coordinates and reaches out to touch the mind of Xam, a comatose Delta-class telepath aboard the battlestar Galactica, who communicates Taurella<nowiki/>'s coordinates in 7358 (doa).

During the third evacuation flight, a force of Cylon Raiders and a basestar happen upon the group, forcing an engagement (vol2).
After Major Apollo and his flight wing make contact with Taurella and her crew, they are re-integrated into the Fleet (doa).

Tigh and his tech team are the last aboard, however the Cylons strike Ariadna launch bay, destroying the last evacuation shuttle and stranding the team aboard. With no other options, Tigh turns Ariadna—its fusion reactor shot to the point where any additional strain would cause stress-fractures, resulting in an explosion—into a warhead. During the resulting battle, Tigh and his crew set the hulk into a suicide run towards the lone basestar while Galactica closes to engage not only the basestar, but also send a rescue shuttle to recover Tigh and the surviving technicians.

The resultant explosion from Ariadna reactor rips apart the basestar's forward shields, allowing Galactica to strike a fatal blow towards their enemy, thus ending the battle and permitting the Fleet to escape (vol2).

Additional Information

Taurella is a diplomatic transport of the Twelve Colonies of Man. In the aftermath of the Battle of Cimtar, the ship holds numerous refugees fleeing the Cylon tyranny in the rag-tag fugitive fleet, notably Countess Sephoni of Scorpion and her court.

Ten Yahrens Alone[edit]

Unable to keep pace with the Fleet, Taurella finds itself alone and fending for itself within the first yahren of the exodus in 7348, after it is presumed lost by the Fleet's leadership. Under the psionic guidance of Countess Sephoni, Captain Rekort and his crew are able to trail the Fleet, never being in a position to rejoin it formally (Battlestar Galactica: Death of Apollo #1-#2).

While alone in the expanse of space, Sephoni spends her time finding the home of the fabled Thirteenth Tribe, the far-flung colony of Earth, through the use of divination. Believing to hear the thoughts of humans from that colony, she divines the coordinates and reaches out to touch the mind of Xam, a comatose Delta-class telepath aboard the battlestar Galactica, who communicates Taurella's coordinates in 7358 (Battlestar Galactica: Death of Apollo #1).

After Major Apollo and his flight wing make contact with Taurella and her crew, they are re-integrated into the Fleet (Battlestar Galactica: Death of Apollo #2).
