Ensign Nita is a young engineer serving aboard Galactica.

Nita has been friendly with Dalton since childhood[1] (RH: Warhawk).

Engineering career

edit source

Nita serves as an Ensign in the engineering department aboard Galactica. During second cycle, she suffers serious burns from a small tylium fire in her department[2] (RH: Warhawk).

Medical treatment

edit source

Following her injury, Nita seeks treatment from Cassiopeia rather than going to the regular medical staff. She explains "I know that you don't really see patients anymore, but I felt more comfortable coming to you"[3] (RH: Warhawk).

Cassiopeia treats Nita's burns by first taking the pain away, then addressing the injuries. The skin cells immediately begin working overtime to repair themselves, with synth cells joining the mix and combining with the actual cells to create a temporary graft until the original cells can complete their regrowth. Cassiopeia assures her "That arm should be fine in a day or so"[2] (RH: Warhawk).

Personality

edit source

Nita demonstrates gratitude for Cassiopeia's care, thanking her warmly with "face glowing, her smile radiant"[3]. She shows humor and perceptiveness during her visit, raising an eyebrow and observing "Furlon requires actually not working, you know," when Cassiopeia mentions being glad to get away from her research lab for a short break[3] (RH: Warhawk).

Nita makes a connection between Cassiopeia's work ethic and Dalton's drive, commenting "Now I know where Dalton got her drive." Cassiopeia laughs and responds "Well, it wasn't from her father," a reference to Starbuck[4] (RH: Warhawk).

Before leaving, she asks Cassiopeia to "Say hello to her for me?" referring to Dalton. Cassiopeia agrees, noting "Whenever I get to see her. Everyone's a little overworked right now." The two women embrace before Nita departs[5] (RH: Warhawk).
