Iollas is the executive officer aboard battlestar Pegasus and survives the Battle of Gamoray (^{(Comics: Battlestar Galactica vs. Battlestar Galactica #1)}).

He has known Cain for over thirty yahrens, and has a familiarity with his commander—such as not knocking on Cain's door prior to entering his quarters. Two sectares following Gamoray, Cain considers transferring command of Pegasus to Iollas.

Iollas is also defensive of his commander, particularly when Cain takes a risk into possibly walking into a trap following their receipt of a message from an alien woman later known as Kali (^{(Comics: Battlestar Galactica vs. Battlestar Galactica #1)}).
