Atlas is likely the name of a Lord of Kobol.
While no other mentions have been made, a stadium on Caprica is named after him circa 58 BCH (42YR) (CAP: "Rebirth")
According to Serge's Twitter page, the story of Atlas had him holding up Kobol, rather than Earth, on his shoulders. However, the statue at Atlas arena does not show a world on his shoulder, even though Atlas' stance suggests otherwise.
