Stone is the Nationalist aide to General Maxwell, as well as a family friend.

"Stoney's" knowledge of the general's mission to Lunar One makes him a threat to President Arends' peace treaty and is later imprisoned on Arends' order.

Stone initially doesn't believe the story told by Captain Apollo, who appears to be Colonel Watts, but apparently believes some of the tale after Starbuck appears (Experiment in Terra).
