Ares (also known as Mars) is mentioned as a Lord of Kobol as one of two gods given to service in a dedication ceremony conducted by Sister Tivenan for Nicholas Tyrol (TRS: "The Resistance, Episode 10")

It even appears to be common to refer to this god as Mars (CAP: "Pilot") and there is even a day of the week or holiday celebrating this god under the name (TRS: "Occupation"). Mars is also the primary god worshipped by Taurons (Caprica), with Sam Adama dedicating a large part of his chest tattoo to this God.[1]
The Temple of Mars is also prominent in Tauron religion, particularly when dealing with how loved ones pass on after a violent act (CAP: "Pilot" deleted scene).
The Sons of Ares are a militaristic group dedicated to this Lord (TRS: "Escape Velocity").
