Ares

Ares (also known as Mars) is mentioned as a Lord of Kobol as one of two gods given to service in a dedication ceremony conducted by Sister Tivenan for Nicholas Tyrol ^{(TRS: "The Resistance, Episode 10")}

An alternative use of the name Ares is Mars. It even appears to be common to refer to this god as Mars ^{(CAP: "Pilot")} and there is even a day of the week or holiday celebrating this god under the name ^{(TRS: "Occupation")}. Mars is also the primary god worshipped by Taurons (Caprica), with Sam Adama dedicating a large part of his chest tattoo to this God.^[1]

The Temple of Mars is also prominent in Tauron religion, particularly when dealing with how loved ones pass on after a violent act ^{(CAP: "Pilot" deleted scene)}.

The Sons of Ares are a militaristic group dedicated to this Lord ^{(TRS: "Escape Velocity")}.
