The Real Daggit
Muffit was Boxey's daggit who was killed by falling debris during the Cylon sneak attack. Boxey mourned for Muffit on the Rising Star, refusing the eat as a result.
The "Muffit II"
To ease Boxey's suffering, Flight Captain Apollo and Doctor Wilker furnished a prototype robotic daggit, called the Muffit II. As no daggits survived the attack, there was need for a replacement (as daggits served multiple purposes). In order to train Muffit II, Wilker scanned an image of Boxey into its circuits, thus allowing Boxey to train the robot.
