Prometheus is an apparent Lord of Kobol in the Colonial pantheon.

Prometheus is noted for taking fire from the Gods and giving it to the humans against Zeus's wishes. Given Tom Zarek's continual referencing of Admiral Adama as Zeus, and the fact that the Prometheus is the hub of the black market, an organization which seeks to redistribute goods from the military to the civilians, the parallel is very apparent ("Home, Part II", "Black Market").

Prometheus is also the inspiration for the name of Caprica's Promethia High School (Rebirth) and the name of a ship in the Fleet (Black Market).
