Ares is mentioned as a Lord of Kobol as one of two gods given to service in a dedication ceremony conducted by Sister Tivenan for Nicholas Tyrol (The Resistance, Episode 10)

In Greek mythology, Ares is the son of Zeus and Hera.

As the god of war in the Greek pantheon, Ares was a chaotic deity that represented more of the violent and sinister grotesque nature of warfare, as opposed to his sister, Athena.

The Roman counterpart of Ares is the god, Mars.

Interestingly, the holiday celebrating this god is named after the Roman equivalent (Occupation).
