William Adama Sr. was the father of Joseph Adama and Sam Adama and was a native of Tauron.
Adama, along with his wife, are killed during the Tauron Civil War that propelled their surviving children, Joseph and Sam, to emigrate to Caprica during their youth. At his wishes, Adama is killed by his Joseph, using the handgun Sam had looted from the dead soldier outside their window only the night before.
Sixty-nine years before the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, Joseph named his son after his father (CAP: "Caprica pilot").
