During the Battle of the Binary Star System Yellow Squadron is the wireless callsign of a Viper squadron sortied by Pegasus. It is shown on the DRADIS screen participating in the battle. Together with Blue Squadron it is presumably led by Starbuck [1] (TRS: "The Captain's Hand").

Yellow Squadron also appears on Galactica's DRADIS during the Battle of the Ionian Nebula (TRS: "He That Believeth in Me").

Similar terms

  • In a "A Day in the Life", Lee Adama orders his pilots to do flying and landing exercises, dividing them into red, blue, yellow and green "sections".

Notes

  • Originally it seemed that Yellow Squadron could be a standing squadron on Pegasus (similar to the naming scheme of the Original Series). However, later the terms Red and Blue Squadron are used for widely different units, which are led by different people. This suggests that it is merely a callsign to identify the squadrons on the wireless and DRADIS.

  1. After Starbuck assigns Red and Blue Squadron, she says "the rest follow me", which could indicate that she leads both of them, although they are only identified on DRADIS.
