Zed is an employee of the Inter-Fleet Broadcasting network. He is apparently a sports commentator, covering events like Triad, (The Man with Nine Lives) and apparently had special guest commentators like that of Lieutenant Boomer to add their two cubits.
Zed was present when Flight Sergeant Ortega and Lieutenant Starbuck were ejected from the Triad game. (Murder on the Rising Star)
