Ozar is the commander of the Colonial stealth battlestar Osiris in the tenth year of the Cylon War.

She is among those Colonial officers operating within the "Ghost Fleet" hidden in Cylon territory and accepts Ensign William Adama's offer to transport Doctor Becca Kelly to the ice planet Djerba in what is potentially a one-way mission. As part of providing cover to Adama and Kelly aboard the Raptor Wild Weasel, Ozar jumps Osiris within DRADIS range of a Cylon basestar, launches Vipers, and engages the enemy.

Ozar orders Osiris put into a collision course with the basestar after the Cylons successfully disable the Colonial vessel's nuclear arsenal. Surviving the initial impact with the basestar, Ozar manually detonates the nuclear weapons and is killed when Osiris is lost with all hands ^{(TRS: "Blood and Chrome")}.

Script Version Differences

The pre-production script for Blood and Chrome presents Commander Ozar as a significantly different character than the final production. In the script version, Ozar is portrayed as a male officer described as a "hard-looking ex-pilot and commando in his 40s." This represents a major character change made during production, as the final version features a female commander.

The script provides much more detailed characterization and dialogue for Ozar throughout the mission. During the briefing sequence, he personally addresses the pilots about the dangerous nature of their mission to Djerba, explaining that "a spec ops Marine Recon team has already been inserted" and emphasizing that "the entire course of this war could hinge on" Dr. Kelly reaching her objective. He also mentions having "liberated" two cases of ambrosia from Valkyrie's mess as a morale booster for the pilots.

When the Cylon basestar appears at Djerba, the script shows Ozar making the difficult tactical decision to proceed with the mission despite the overwhelming odds. He acknowledges that "even in stealth mode, they're gonna pick us up on DRADIS soon" once they launch aircraft, but determines they have "no choice" because "Marines are waiting" and "timing's everything with this op."

During the final battle sequence, the script provides Ozar's last words and actions in greater detail. When the nuclear missile bay doors jam, his Executive Officer warns that "at this range, we may not be able to clear the blast," but Ozar replies "No choice. Do it!" He then requests manual override control of the warheads and, looking at his crew one final time, says "It was an honor, gentlemen" before manually triggering the nuclear detonation that destroys both ships.
