For a list of Colonial Warriors, the original Viper pilots seen in the Original Series, see List of Warriors.
|
- This list was created to keep track of Galactica's and Pegasus' current and former Viper pilots, Raptor pilots and ECOs. When mentioned-only characters are linked to a separate article, they are either repeatedly mentioned, have some significance despite not being seen or the article includes a note about their name.
Pilot candidates, or "nuggets," normally start training in simulators, but after the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, Galactica's nuggets went from classroom straight into live aircraft until Pegasus (with its on-board flight simulators) joined the Fleet. Once nuggets complete their basic flight and combat training, they are known as "Rooks".
A flight-qualified pilot wears basic pilot wings on the uniform's left breast. Senior-rated pilots (e.g. William Adama, Saul Tigh) wear a variation with outstretched wings.
Pilot wings are a permanently-awarded skills badge; they do not necessarily indicate active flight status, only that the wearer has successfully qualified as a pilot. Officers who have moved into non-flying positions, such as Aaron Kelly and Felix Gaeta, continue to wear them.
A flight suit, which protects a pilot during a decompression emergency, is standard apparel for all pilots.
Qualifications legend:
V - Viper pilot
R - Raptor pilot
E - Raptor ECO
O - Other craft [1]

Mentioned Only[edit source]
The following mentioned-only characters have been identified by name. They may be identical with any of the mentioned-only characters identified by call sign, listed below.
The following mentioned-only characters have been identified by callsign. They may be identical with any of the mentioned-only characters identified by name, listed above. All the pilots listed for "Lay Down Your Burdens, Part I" are part of the rescue mission to Caprica and identify themselves during the wireless check-in prior to the first jump.
Status Unknown[edit source]
This is a listing of pilots and callsigns derived from the nameplates that were auctioned off. These nameplates were either used on the Vipers in the background or made for the production, and thus may or may never have been seen on-screen. Their status has been presently identified as "unknown."
Homages to real persons[edit source]
The following pilots are homages to people working on the show or related to its production. Since they may only exist in behind-the-scenes photos and not featured on screen, they don't necessarily exist within the show's continuity.
Non-Canon[edit source]
This is a list of names of pilots who have been identified as not being in the series canon, based on the following conditions:
- The name is derived from a nameplate that was production made, and;
- The name directly contradicts known, established canon.

Specialist Brooks is a deckhand aboard Galactica.
He boards Raptor 718, which is bound for Zephyr in order to perform some maintenance duties. He is accompanied by Lt. Gaeta, two Eights, Lt. J. "Shark" Finnegan and "Easy" Esrin.
The Raptor becomes separated from the Fleet and stranded with a limited air supply. He attempts to repair the CO2 scrubbers but is unable to reach into the compartment. An Eight offers to help, but is electrocuted shortly after she fixes the system.
Several hours later, Brooks is found to have died from a morpha overdose. One empty vial is found in his hand, and another next to his body. The morpha came from the supply brought aboard by Gaeta (TRS: "The Face of the Enemy").

Mr. Brooks is a station manager for United Broadcasting Company Television studios. Mr. Brooks offers Jamie Hamilton a shot at a job, but only if she can secure an interview with Dr. Donald Mortinson (1980: "Galactica Discovers Earth, Part I"). She secures the interview and lands the job (1980: "Galactica Discovers Earth, Part II").
Mr. Brooks begins to grow weary of Hamilton's tendency to stray from her assignments, assigning a cameraman, Hal Fredricks, to her in an attempt to keep her on track. She is sent to cover a baseball camp run by former baseball superstar Billy Eheres (1980: "Spaceball").
Novelization depiction[edit source]
The content in this section is considered separate from the primary continuity (often called "canon").
Be sure that your contributions to this section reflect events specific to the separate continuity exclusively. |
In the novelization by Michael Resnick, this character is named Dana Anderson, who is the West Coast News Director of United Broadcasting Corporation and an award winning journalist who has interviewed various governors, presidents, and other people of importance.[1] Anderson is described as a tall, graying man[2], who happens to be an atheist[3], and offers Jamie Hamilton a three-year contract if she successfully gets an interview with Dr. Alfred Mortinson.[4]
Anderson later snags an interview with Mortinson after his first meeting with "terrorists" Troy and Dillon[5], and, after Hamilton's return from 1944 C.E., believes she is sympathetic to the so-called terrorists. After being contacted at the office by Dillon to warn her about Xaviar, she informs him that Anderson has put a trace on their call, much to Anderson's irritation. After this, Hamilton terminates her employment with Anderson.[6]
Notes[edit source]
- After "Spaceball," Brooks neither appears in the rest of the series episodes nor is he a character in any of the unproduced scripts from the series.
