Marta Shaw was a well known Quorum of Twelve delegate with connections in the Colonial Fleet, and the mother of Kendra Shaw. Prior to the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, Marta had succumbed to cancer, with her death having been reported throughout the Twelve Colonies. Her fame and connections was used by Admiral Helena Cain to accuse Kendra Shaw of exploitation in order to gain a posting as the Admirals aide. (TRS: "Razor")

Notes

• The timing of Marta's death is not made explicitly clear, but dialogue in "Razor" suggests that it was relatively recent as of Kendra Shaw's assignment to Pegasus.
