Kacey is a young girl who lives on board Galactica with her mother, Julia Prynne (Torn). During the Cylon occupation of New Caprica, Leoben Conoy uses a kidnapped Kacey in an attempt to trick Kara Thrace into becoming his mate.
On New Caprica
According to Conoy, Thrace's ovary was recovered from the remains of the farm that was destroyed by the Caprica Resistance (The Farm). An egg was fertilized with Conoy's genetic material and was implanted in a human woman, who carried it to term; the surrogate mother died in childbirth, but Kacey survived.
Prior to revealing the child's existance to Thrace, Conoy holds her in a secured "apartment" on New Caprica (Occupation). When the child is introduced, Thrace is understandably uneasy around the child, but appears to show genuine concern when Kacey has an accident and requires medical attention (Precipice). When Samuel Anders frees Thrace from her prison during Galactica's rescue attempt, Thrace goes back to make sure Kacey escapes (Exodus, Part II).
On Galactica
Immediately after Thrace and Kacey's return to Galactica, Kacey is reunited with her real mother, Julia Prynne. Prynne says that the Cylons took Kacey from her earlier and she feared that her child was dead (Exodus, Part II).
Some time after her return, Kacey still remembers Starbuck and asks about her. Her mother takes Kacey to see Thrace, but is vehementely rebuffed at first. Later Thrace has a change of heart and visits the two in their makeshift home on one of the hangar decks (Torn).
