Kara "Starbuck" Thrace smokes a cigarette made with the "finest fumarella leaf on Caprica," given to her by Gaius Baltar (TRS: "Water").

Similar to the tobacco leaf, the fumarella [ˌfju.mə.ˈɹɛ.lə] leaf is used to make cigars and cigarettes.

The fumarella leaf grew on Caprica, according to a bragging Gaius Baltar, who gave one of his last high-quality cigarettes to Kara "Starbuck" Thrace after a card game (TRS: "Water").

Notes

edit
  • Unlike the fumarello of the Original Series, cigars and cigarettes don't have their own name in the Re-Imagined Series. However, the name "fumarella leaf" is likely an homage to it, and is applied similarly to the real-world tobacco leaf.
  • There are several brands of cigars like Foliole and Caprican Imperial.
  • A brand of cigarettes sold on Prometheus is Sarcoma, while Caprica introduces other brands, including Hephaestus and Santorium.
