Summary[edit]

It's a dangerous time for the last remaining humans. Captured by the Cylons on New Caprica, the colonists live in fear of what every new day will bring. As the Cylons press their oppressive--and life-threatening agenda--the survivors grow more desperate to reclaim their freedom.
But there's hope. Out in the wilds of New Caprica, beyond the Cylon boundaries, is a band of human freedom fighters.
They answer to no one. They fear no Cylons. They are Twilight Command--and they have a plan.
From writer Michael Moreci (Wasted Space, Archie Meets Batman '66) and artist Breno Tamura (Batgirl and the Birds of Prey) comes the untold tale of Twilight Command![1]

Plot[edit]

The entirety of this issue takes place on New Caprica during the Cylon occupation.

Day 102[edit]

  • On day 102 of the Cylon occupation, John Cavil drives a truck (as part of a convoy) during a rainy night. His truck and others are filled with supplies into the shanty town of New Caprica City. He waxes on during an one-way conversation about "putting in an awful lot of work bringing an inferior race to its extinction" to a Centurion.
  • The convoy stops for a seemingly deactivated Centurion standing in their path. Cavil attempts to talk to the deactivated Centurion to no avail, and orders the Centurions (four in all) to remove the obstruction so that it can be brought back to base.
  • The Centurion activates, revealing a green glowing eye, and declares that "You definitely have problems."
  • Cavil's shock on a talking Centurion subsides as he orders its destruction.
  • A rocket-propelled grenade from a resistance fighter takes out a group of Centurions near the convoy, and Flores springs their trap. He orders Devos to secure Cavil, while Tomlin is to stay on him.
  • A short-lived firefight ensues, and Cavil is disarmed by Devos. Flores declares that the reason Cavil remains alive is to deliver the food to the humans as planned. Much to Cavil's continued surprise, Flores reveals that they are not from the colony, and Devos knocks Cavil out before the conversation can continue. Flores orders the food to be loaded, so that they can disappear again.

Day 103[edit]

  • Saul Tigh is talking to a small group of people, attempting to boost morale and the belief that William Adama will return. He is interrupted by a man flanked by two Centurions, who asks to have a word with him.
  • Tigh runs back to Galen Tyrol's tent, ordering Tyrol to find Commander Flores.
  • The Centurions catch up with Tigh, and they take him away.
  • Tyrol and Samuel Anders meet up later that night to discuss Tigh's last directive. While Anders was not able to turn up anything (no one knew even who Flores was), Tyrol says that he was able to find something that he didn't like.
  • Tyrol explains that he's heard reports of resistance fighters living wild outside of New Caprica City, who've been actively attacking Cylons. Tyrol also notes that he even has a probable location in a forest outside of the city.
  • Following a heated argument, both Anders and Tyrol set out to find Flores.
  • While searching for any sign of Flores and their resistance cell, they come across a hooded man with glasses, who distracts them as a green-eyed Centurion welcomes them to Twilight Command.
  • Tyrol asks for Flores, and is chastised by Flores herself when Tyrol assumes that she's a man. After a confrontational conversation with Flores, Cylons attack the meeting and Flores knocks down Anders.
  • As the Centurions close in, they enter Spark's perimeter, and he is able to electrocute them.
  • Cavil reveals himself and begins making a sarcastic comment, but is gunned down by Flores.
  • Flores continues her conversation with Anders and Tyrol, offering to hear them out for two minutes out of respect for Saul Tigh.
  • Tyrol vainly makes his case, but Flores has already made up her mind, believing that there is no future other than survival, as the Cylons cannot be beaten.
  • Flores does offer a glimmer of hope in the form of a "toaster factory" that Twilight Command will be attacking. She doesn't tell them its location, for that information would imperil Tyrol's family. She says that her Command will destroy the factory in three days.

Notes[edit]

Analysis[edit]

Questions[edit]

  • Where did Commander Flores and her group originate from?
  • Given John Cavil's motivations regarding the Final Five and the humans, why would he be driving supplies or even agreeing to do so?
  • Are Flores and his crew aware of resurrection?
