Snake is the callsign of a pilot who flies as Jo-Jo's wingman, when Jo-Jo is killed by Scar. Snake survives the engagement and reports Jo-Jo's death to Galactica.

He is assigned at short notice to replace Captain Thrace when she feels that she is in no condition to fly (Scar).

In an alternate version, when President Roslin is discussing the strategic ore with Admiral Adama and Colonel Tigh, there is a voice-over by Snake in which he is killed by Scar. Obviously this is an error, since he is mentioned as Jo-Jo's wingman much later in the episode. It's also possible that his name is used later, because the earlier scene was already discarded.
