Dr. Stoffa is a member of the Fleet following the Second Exodus.

Aboard Galactica, Dr. Cottle instructs Daniel Novacek, boarding a Raptor bound for another ship in the Fleet, to have Dr. Stoffa contact Cottle after Novacek arrives at his destination (TRS: "Hero").

  • Before the episode "Hero," no information was available on the availability of another physician aside from Doctor Cottle. While never explicitly stated, many people assumed from Cottle's off-ship duties (TRS: "Scattered"), that he is the only physician in the Fleet. Stoffa could be a physician from Pegasus, but based on the context of Cottle's dialogue and the nature of Novacek's ordeal, Stoffa may be a clinical psychologist and not a medical doctor.
  • The October 25, 2006 "Full Collated" version of David Eick's "Hero" screenplay provides no additional details about Dr. Stoffa beyond what appears in the final aired episode.[production 1] The character appears only as part of Cottle's instruction to Novacek, suggesting Stoffa's role was conceived specifically as a specialist for trauma counseling rather than general medical practice.
