Ben Stark was a student at the Athena Academy on Caprica, a private religious school. He and some of other bright students, including Lacy and Ben's girlfriend, Zoe Graystone, were introduced by the school headmistress, Sister Clarice Willow to the illegal monotheistic cult of one God.

Ben became a fanatical monotheist and while he induced Zoe and Lacy to leave Caprica with him, he instead blew up their train with a suicide bomb. Like Zoe, he uploaded his memories into an on-line avatar named Ben-A, who has contact only with Sister Clarice.[1].
