The Armistice Station Officer was assigned to the Armistice Station, where he would represent the Twelve Colonies to attempt their continuation of diplomatic relations between the exiled Cylons and humans. He brings with him to the negotiation table pictures of what is likely his family, including a photo of his son, Boxey.[1]
The officer is the first member of the Colonial Fleet to see the Cylons in over 40 years when two upgraded Cylon Centurions and someone that appears to be a strikingly beautiful human female arrive at the station. This female is actually a Cylon evolved to humanoid form. While the Centurions stand stoically at attention, the female asks the Colonial officer, "Are you alive?" After he answers in the affirmative, she tells him to prove it, and kisses him.
The station shakes from a missile hit from the Cylon basestar above the facility. Telling the officer, "It has begun,", the Cylon grabs the Armistice Officer and forcibly kisses him, preventing his escape back to his Atmospheric shuttle (Miniseries).
Fleet Headquarters sends a general message on the status of all FTL-capable ships that are able to Jump to the Armistice Station to aid the courier officer when he fails to report or return to Headquarters. Commander Adama, on receiving this message from Headquarters from Galactica's Watch Officer, Lieutenant Gaeta, indicates that the battlestar's scheduled decommissioning ceremonies later that day would make them a bit too busy to help (Miniseries).
Notes
- The actor portraying the officer, Ryan Robbins, underwent a significant transformation through makeup and prosthetics in order to appear older than he really was. The original script of the Miniseries called for the opening to show a young officer repeatedly visiting Armistice Station over the 40 years between the end of the Cylon War and the Attack on the Colonies, progressively aging with each visit. Multiple scenes with Robbins in various age-enhanced makeup were filmed, however all of them except the final scene where Six makes her entrance were cut.
- Actor Ryan Robbins also plays the New Caprica Resistance fighter Charlie Connor during Season 3.
- In the novelization of the miniseries, the officer has a name, Colonel Wakefield. However, because the novelization takes liberty in giving names to places and characters that, in many instances, have not been substantiated by or contradicts aired content, the novelization is a based in a separate continuity.
